The symbols are divided into three categories : • They state that a material or a thing can be recycled . • Indicate the type of material from which it is made . • Declare compatibility with a recognized compatible format. The international recognition of the recycling symbol is three consecutive arrows. Each arrow represents one aspect of a successful recycling program : collection , rebuilding / recreating a new product , and ultimately the consumer market . The sign used on goods that are recyclable , but this is not always true . This symbol may be found in a series of many products that are made from a variety of materials. SYMBOLS
