Investigating Manchester 1700-1900 • The Industrial Revolution was a period of great economic and social change, especially for towns like Manchester which grew rapidly. • The town became a symbol of both imperial splendour and Victorian squalor. • Your task is to analyse how Manchester changed and ask whether it was a change for the better or worse.
