  3. Donald George Bradman • Donald Bradman was born on August 27th 1908 in Bowral New South Wales. He was the 5th child in the Bradman family. He has 1 brother named Victor and 3 sisters Islet, Lily and Elizabeth May. His parents were his mum Emily and his dad George Bradman. Don went to school at Bowral primary school.

  4. Growing Up • The Bradman family were a happy family, they always played cricket together. Don always practised his cricket. He used to get a cricket stump and use the stump to whack a golf ball off a brick wall. But then for more of a challenge he whacked the golf ball off a water tank and then he had to run to hit it again.

  5. Playing cricket • Don grew up playing cricket for Bowral Cricket Club coached by his Uncle. He scored his first century when he was 12 years old against Mittagong High School . When Don was 14 he left school to take cricket seriously. He got asked to play for NSW when he was 19. Bowral cricket oval

  6. Playing pro • Don grew up playing for Bowral cricket club but when he got asked to play for NSW in 2925 he started to play as a professional. On his debut at the Adelaide oval and it was a good debut Don was able to accomplish a century. He got asked to play in England for the ashes series in 1929.

  7. Record breaking game • When Bradman came to play against Queensland at the SCG he didn’t know what was going to happen. When the game had finished he had made a world record, he had scored an amazing 452 runs in 415 minutes. The previous record was 436. Bradman getting carried off after he got 452 runs against Queensland

  8. Sir Donald Bradman • In 1949 January 1st Don Bradman was pronounced Sir Donald George Bradman for his cricketing services to the game.

  9. The Bradman Stand • In 1990 a stand was made at Adelaide oval called the Bradman stand in honour of Sir Donald Bradman for his effort to the game of cricket.

  10. A happy life • On the 25th of February 2001 Sir Donald Bradman passed away in Adelaide. There are many statues of Don Bradman in Australia to remember him as our finest cricketer.
