  1. Edit Quiz Settings Professional Development Training

Why? • When the master courses are copied out the each campus the quiz settings do not contain the correct dates, times, or access options. • The instructor is responsible for adjusting these settings for each quiz, assignment, or worksheet at the beginning of the term. • The quiz settings also control access. A mistake here can prevent your students from accessing a quiz, homework assignment, or worksheet.

  3. Step 1: Course Main Screen This section starts here

  4. Step 2: Find the quiz to adjust CLICK HERE

  5. Step 3: Open Quiz

  6. Step 4: Scroll down screen to Admin block

  7. Step 5: Click on Edit Settings CLICK HERE

  8. Step 6: Click on Expand All CLICK HERE

  9. Step 7: Fix Open and Close date/time

  10. Step 8: Fix Time Limit (if applicable)

  11. Step 9: What to do when time expired ONLY this choice – none Of the others used at PCI.

  12. Step 10: Grade Options Only use these options

  13. Step 11: Layout Options Only use these options

  14. Step 12: Question Behavior Only use these options

  15. Step 13: Set Review Options ONLY USE THESE OPTIONS

  16. Step 14: Display Options ONLY USE THESE OPTIONS

  17. Step 14.5: Extra Access Restrictions ONLY USE THESE OPTIONS Change the password to one of your own choosing. Do not use the same password for every quiz.

  18. Step 15: Common Module Settings ONLY USE THESE OPTIONS

  19. Step 16: Restrict Access ONLY USE THESE OPTIONS Enabling any of these dates will prevent students from reviewing their quizzes. If you have your Open and Close dates set properly you do not need these.

  20. Step 17: Activity Completion ONLY USE THESE OPTIONS If activity completion does not show go into your course settings and turn it on.

  21. Step 18: Save and Return to Course Click Here

  22. Step 19: Back on main screen

  23. Note: Access Restrictions • If you see a greyed out area next to activity with the words “Access Restrictions” and the students cannot access the quiz you will need to recheck step #16 as well as the open and close dates/times.

  24. Step 8: Find Student Type Student Last Name Or First Name Or email address Then Click Here

  25. Step 9: Click Enroll Button Click Here

  26. Step 10: Search Next Student Type Student Last Name Or First Name Or email address Then Click Here

  27. Step 11: Repeat Steps 9 + 10 for all

  28. Step 11: Complete Enrollment Click Here

  29. Step 12: Finished Enrolling All enrolled students should Show on this list as a ‘Student’ role

  32. Override for Single Student Professional Development Training

  33. Why? • If a student misses a quiz, exam, or assignment in the quiz format and if your program allows makeups you will need to give the single student access to makeup without opening the quiz for everyone else. • This provides a record of overrides and makeup quizzes. This is part of the student’s records and course records.

  37. Step 4: Scroll down screen to Admin block

  38. Step 5: Click on User Overrides CLICK HERE

  39. Step 6: Click on Add User Override CLICK HERE

  40. Step 7: Fill Out the Override Dates and Times Select Student New Password

  41. Step 8: Save Click Here

  42. Step 9: Back to Override List Click Here

  43. Step 10: Back on main screen
