  4. A Major Goal • Student tutoring (9:30 to 11:30) • Teacher enhancement

  5. School Day • Starts at 8:20 Ends at 3:30 • We dismiss at 2:00 on the last day before Christmas break and last day of school. • Friday’s in Session: August 27, September 10, October 22, December 17, January 28, April 29, and May 13

  6. Snow Days • 2 Snow days are built into calendar • 3rd snow day will be January 21st • 4th snow day will be February 4th • All others made up at end of school year

  7. Bus routes for regular school • We will NOT start earlier. • The students were here in plenty of time last year to eat breakfast and prepare for school even with 10 minute earlier start this year • This may change at a later date.

  8. Friday transportation (Student tutoring) • We will need to know by Thursday at 1:00 pm. • We will provide transportation for bus kids if needed. • It may not be the same bus driver. • It will not be the same bus route (times may vary) • If the school provides transportation the student is to be in the school until the transportation returns them home (we are only going to make one to town one trip home)

  9. Personal transportation for tutoring • Students are free to come and go as they please

  10. Friday Lunch • We will only have one cook on hand • Open to any student • MUST inform school by Thursday noon if eating on Friday • Not a normal dinner • Something simple like a sandwich or leftovers

  11. The School will be open on Friday’s of student tutoring/student enhancement • It is a public place. • We just ask they remain out of teacher’s rooms during in-service time and be quiet in the halls. • We will have Para-professionals available if student’s need tutoring • The school will NOT be a day care and those students not following rules will be asked to leave.

  12. If the administration office attempts to contact parent (Grades K-12) • The student WILL be here on Friday’s • You will be asked if school transportation is needed • You will be asked if the student is eating lunch at the school

  13. If a teacher contacts the parent (K-12) • We strongly encourage the student to be here on Friday • You will again be asked about lunch and transportation

  14. If you as a parent want tutoring for your child and need bussing • You need to contact the school by noon on Thursday • If they need tutoring and no transportation they may show up on their own time from 9:30 to 11:30

  15. All Teachers will be available for tutoring during tutoring time. • If Johnny learns Science better from Mr. Hulscher…then I will help the student • Just remember Mrs. Knox is the one doing the final grading in Science

  16. Students required to attend Friday (7-12)These students are required to be at school by 8:15 and done at 1:00 • Any student who doesn’t hand in makeup slip on time. • Any student who has 3 D’s and/or F’s (2 D’s and 1 F student attends Friday) • Any student who has missed a class 6 times per semester will come in on Friday as well as every day after 6 as well (does not include Exempt absences)

  18. Students required to attend Friday (7-12)These students are required to be at school by 8:15 and done at 1:00 • Any student with 5 tardies per semester and every tardy after 5 will require Friday school as well • Any student at the discretion of the administration

If a student misses a second Friday they were to attend they will have a day of OSS and have to attend the next available Friday of student tutoring and teacher enhancement.

Students required to attend Friday (7-12)These students are required to be at school by 8:15 and done at 1:00 • These are the students in Grades 7-12 who the administration office attempts to contact their parents. • These students will not be allowed to sleep, use cell phones, use I-pods, etc. • They will be doing something constructive.

  21. Teachers will maintain a log of the students and the length of tutoring they were in attendance for during student tutoring Parents you may check on this through the teacher at conferences or other times

  22. 4 Day school week • We don’t have all the answers. • Rules may be changed, deleted, or added at any time. • We will do what is best for the Doland School.
