  2. #StandUp4Edu • We are co-ordinating with other public sector unions such as UNISON, GMB, PCS, FBU and UNITE for July 10th. • it pays to organise.

  3. Information is coming out now to members homes including a new simplified leaflet. • TALK TO YOUR MEMBERS • Get leaflets for parents from the office. • If on a trip – Donate a Day’s Pay(publicly) • Rally – Nottingham City NUT isworking with other unions locally to have a joint march and rally. Look for the banner. • The campaign isn’t just strikes. #StandUp4Edu Thursday July 10

  4. Our 2011 national strike action on pensions did force some concessions – e.g. making sure those 50 + can retire at 60 on their full pension. • The Review Body refused to support Gove’s attack on our holidays and directed hours. He is under pressure. • Local strikes have won victories over pay policies. Now we need to win national changes across every school. What have we achieved by taking action?

  5. #StandUp4Edu Get councillors involved. Lobby your local councillor. 10th July Lobbying Street stalls and Protest

  6. You can lobby your MP as well. • There are 100’s of teachers in each constituency. • We have so far met with Lillian Greenwood, Graham Allen and Chris Leslie and there is an education round table suggested in October, but we need to step up the pressure. • You have a right to go and see them, check their websites etc for surgery times. • Make our voices heard! #StandUp4Edu Lobbying

  7. #standUp4Edu • #standUp4Edu Wear your green T Shirt or collect one on the day

  8. #StandUp4Edu There has been no discussion on: the principle of PRP, breakup of national pay system removal of pay portability When will Michael Listen?

  9. #StandUp4Edu There has been no discussion on: expectation that we must work to 68/69 to get full pension. Workload Floor targets There has been some discussion on implementation of these policies. When will Michael Listen

  10. #StandUp4Edu • 1% “rise” • It’s not enough – but will you get it? • Michael Gove has left decision to Governing Bodies. • 1% applies only to those on the minimum & maximum of pay ranges! • Ask your head teacher. Demand to know. • You are fully supported by the union – up to taking sustained strike action in schools that don’t give 1% to all. • Tell Nottingham City NUT if your school intends not to give it, so that we can support you. 1% “rise”

  11. Attending “talks” on implementation. • Talking to the Labour party. • Looking into setting up a blacklist for schools with bad pay policies – particularly on portability. • Organising for further strike action if necessary. #StandUp4Edu What else is the NUT doing?

  12. We are witnessing the biggest exodus of teachers. Michael Gove is damaging education for generations to come. Be prepared to strike Thursday 10 July. #StandUp4Edu
