Results CCMS met 13 out of 13 AYP goals Mathematics proficiency for students with disabilities was at 66.7% (+33.4%) Mathematics proficiency for economically disadvantaged students was at 92.2% (+25.3%) Overall reading and mathematics proficiency increased from 73.8% in 2007-2008 to 90.5% in 2008-2009. (+16.7%) Remediate during tutorials Incorporate AVID strategies school-wide (The Write Path, Writing with Integrated Reading, and Critical Reading: Deep Reading Strategies) Try to secure another computer lab for more whole class activities and assessments Raiders Next Steps

Results 100% of authorized staff were trained on the new writing model Teacher incorporated more opportunities for students to write during class activities Book study on Critical Reading: Deep Reading Strategies New teachers will complete the online training for writing model Provide in-house staff development (integrate technology into instruction) AVID site coordinator will present an AVID strategy at each staff meeting All teachers will be given a weekly newsletter that incorporates an AVID tip Raiders Next Steps

Implement Safe and Civil School Series Initiative (training of CMS team in mid-December) Teachers to issue warning tickets to students displaying inappropriate behaviors Implement the SPARKS program in PE during second semester after teachers receive training in January Results Referrals were reduced from 1151 to 944 ( -17.98%) Positive Behavior Support strategies were implemented (honor lockers, grade level recognition, grade level positive behavior drawings for cafeteria treat, etc.) Raiders Next Steps

Use NCVPS for class “Success 101” during tutorials Solicit parent / community volunteers to help with special class assignments Solicit support from the Currituck Chamber for guest speakers On campus job fair or on/off campus job shadowing Results Three students were enrolled at the start of 2009-2010, but one moved. Results 100% of authorized staff were trained on how to use NCWise Software such as ClassScape, Study Island, and Plato was used regularly to increase student learning Increased opportunities for students to blog, email assignments, etc. Try to secure another computer lab so that more whole class activities and assessments can occur simultaneously Raiders Next Steps
