  8. 8 of 10 Firms Hired This Year • 2 firms hired 25 or more new employees • All of these firms had at least 25 employees • Vacancies Remain Limited • Five firms reported having no employment vacancies at the present time • Two reported having vacancies greater than five

  13. Entry-level jobs available to people with HS degrees and experience • Of the 10 firms responding, 8 indicated that a HS Diploma or equivalent was required for their entry-level, front-line jobs

Training Widely Provided • Each of the 10 respondents provided some type of external or on-the-job training • Firms ranged between 15 and 250 hours • Average was 39 hours per year • Trainings were most widely provided for: Operators (process operators, maintenance operators etc.) • Positions require most training hours: • Lab technician (avg. 138 hrs/year) • Mechanics (avg. 113 hrs/year) • Types of training needed most: • Operation specific training • Safety training.
