Travel • Juniors must be on team flights or travel with parents – unaccompanied Juniors are not permitted • Individuals are permitted to book frequent flyer tickets • All other flights must be booked through Goldman Travel • If you want to travel on flights other than team flights, please advise the dates ASAP – the earlier you book, the cheaper the flight!!

  26. Selection Criteria – Junior/Open • Juniors BoysBorn 1997, 98, 99 (14-16 yrs) Girls Born 1997, 98, 99, 00 (13-16 yrs) Elite juniors marginally too young may be given special exemption by International Sports Committee of the Maccabiah Even 13 years under careful consideration • Open

Selection Criteria – Junior & Open • Qualifying times • Established by the Maccabi Australia National Swimming Committee • Junior: NSW 15 Years State qualifying • Open: NSW State Open qualifying times • Maccabi membership • Other criteria: training and competition • Qualifying period from 1 July 2012 to 28 February 2013 • See website for full details

Qualifying Times Open & Juniors • Single event qualifying time to be achieved • Depending on team size, athletes already qualified may be eligible to compete in other events (without qualifying times achieved) • Approved meets ie. Swimming Australia or State Swimming Association approved qualifying meet • A non qualifier can be selected if needed for relay teams or will benefit the team or competition

Costs Costs • 2009: $10,000 • 2013 Est: $10,500 • 1.2% pa increase on 2009 • Includes: all travel, accommodation, meals, uniforms, training in Israel • Excludes: personal spending, bathers and equipment, snacks etc • Australian National Swimming Team • European 21 day tour budget • Excludes: personal spending, bathers and equipment, snacks, tours, security, management & infrastructure support $11,550

  45. 2012 Swimathon A streamlined, highly effective and fun way to fundraise • Register at www.maccabi.com.au/swimathon • Swimming nominees get 80% of the net proceeds they raise • For non-nominees, the swim team gets 40% of their net proceeds • The balance of the funds go to MS Australia, a very worthy cause • Swimathon dates • Melbourne – 18th November 2012 • Sydney & Perth – 9th December 2012 We expect all nominees to actively support this event
