Pushes and Pulls Lesson 7. Let’s review a few of the vocabulary words we learned yesterday. Push: To move something away from you by using force. You can push a lawn mower or a door closed. Pull: To move something towards you using force.

  2. Let’s review a few of the vocabulary words we learned yesterday.

  3. Push: To move something away from you by using force.

  4. You can push a lawn mower or a door closed.

  5. Pull: To move something towards you using force.

  6. You can pull things like a drawer of a dresser or a wagon.

  7. It takes force to move something. Push and pull are examples of force.

  31. Look at your surroundings. What examples of push and pull do you see? Many examples will be things you use everyday at home, at school or at play.

  33. Today we learned about push and pull. • A push moves things away from you. • A pull moves things closer to you.

  34. We also recognized examples of pushes and pulls in our world and in everyday things. By the way a door can be an example of both push and pull! You push the door open and pull the door closed.

  35. In our next lesson we will look again at our positional words. We will also talk about motion.
