One was a teacher-the tools he used were books, music and art. The other, a parent, worked with a guiding hand, and gentle, loving heart. Day after day, the teacher toiled with touch That was deft and sure. While the parent labored by his side and polished and smoothed it over. They were proud of what they had wrought, for the things they had molded into the child could neither be sold nor bought.   4. Mission The mission of the Ocelot team is that all students emulate the characteristics of our mascot. These students will possess a fierce attitude towards learning, show the courage to stand up for what is right, and be active participants in their educational experience.

Language Arts • Grammar & Writing Skills: • Write Source Textbook and Skills Book • Students will be required to write three formal writing pieces each quarter: • Persuasive essay, narrative and informational writing pieces • Variety of creative writing exercises and assignments, including poetry, short stories, and expository writing pieces.  • Practice public speaking skills in class in order to build confidence in speaking confidently and effectively in front of a group.

  15. Special Education The special education program at Haverford Middle School includes a variety of programs and services to meet the varied needs of students who have been identified as exceptional. The goal is to educate students in the least restrictive environment. The curriculum is the same as the general education curriculum. The materials used are supplemented in order work more intensely on specific skills.
