Anse Boileau timber Piling 2009 • Under ReCoMap. • Formation of AEPCA (Anse Boileau Environmental Protection and Coastal Rehabilitation Association) • Proposed Concept • 2 Stepped Timber Pilings driven into beach front • Artificially augmented sand dunes at beach back • Rehabilitation of dunes with local coastal plants • Provision of Dedicated Public Access • Protect and Rehabilitate 620m of Anse Boileau Bay

Anse Royale Rehabilitation (TESS ReCoMap 2011) • Combination of Rock Beaching, rock groyne (Notched), Timber Piling (creating bays), Back Filling and Re vegetation. • Beach Park Area • Rock beaching to allow for maximum dissipation hence accumulation. • Good results with beaching, sand overtopping armoring. • Seedlings naturally propagating

Upcoming projects 2012/2013. • North East Point revetment with bull nose wall to control wave overtopping. • Rock Beaching @ Cote D’Or Grand Anse Praslin • Anse Kerlan near chapel (still under consideration for appropriate measure) • Anse Aux Pin Coastal Protection (opposite Chateau Bleu) Possible rock armoring N.East Point Anse Aux Pin Anse Kerlan

Upcoming projects (2012/2013) • Reinstatement of Timber Piling Anse Boileau (affected areas) • Aux Cap Typhoo Overtopping Protection (Raised revetment with bull nose wall) • Bollard Installation @ N.East Point • Grand Anse BoardWalk Reinstatement • Anse Gaulette Coastal protection and Rehabilitation (possible joint work with SLTA)

  6. Adaptation measures cont. • Beach Monitoring • Beach Profiling (Data for reference, changes in shoreline progression) • Education -Inclusion of schools in tree planting activities -Clubs: Wildlife, Sandwatch (students sense of ownership of their coastline, help protect) - Help collect data, beach profilling.
