  2. The CFC • The largest & only workplace giving campaign for Federal employees on behalf of approved charitable organizations • Established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy • Over 150 local CFC campaigns that organize the annual fundraising effort in Federal workplaces in the United States and Overseas • The most successful workplace philanthropic fundraiser in the world (Over $272.7 million dollars for charitable causes around the world) • A local campaign that is governed by an executive board made up of your Federal employee colleagues – Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC) • LFCC approves all local charities • OPM approves all national/international charities • CFC CAMPAIGN DATES: • 1 SEPTEMBER – 15 DECEMBER Lead |Commit |Care

CFC of South Hampton Roads • 2014 GOALS • 100% Contact in first month • Participation Goal: (donors who contribute) • 2014 = 25.0% or higher • 2013 = 13.2% • Dollar Goal: • 2014 = $ 5,000,000 or higher • 2013 Raised = $ 3,965,255 • Online Giving Participation Goal: • 2014 = 10.0% Donors to pledge online • 2013 = 1.7% Lead |Commit |Care

  4. Coordinator’s Role • Remember—This is YOUR campaign! Set goals & develop a plan to implement the CFC drive for your federal agency/command. • Establish a Campaign Dollar Goal. Review your campaign history— Campaign Account Report • Promote! Promote! Promote ! Online Pledging! Visit www.cfcshr.org. • Seek & Involve the support and commitment of your Leadership. • Select co-workers (Key Workers) to assist you. • EDUCATE employees on importance & benefits of CFC; Visit www.cfcshr.org. • Encourage participation by ensuring EVERYONE receives an opportunity to give – 100% Contact. • Encourage voluntary giving through Payroll Deduction. It’s easier! • Host a kick-off activity, fundraisers & internal incentives; include CFCSHR speaker presentation. (Please be sure first to check with your JAG/Ethics Officer regarding these activities.) • Run a Leadership Giving Campaign which involves your agency/command’s Senior Leadership personnel & donors who give at a leadership level of $240+ annually. Coordinator/Key Worker’s Role Cont. • Distribute campaign materials: Pledge Forms & Charity Brochures • Direct staff to the website to pledge online www.cfcshr.org. • Collect & Verify the ACCURACY of donor information on paper/online pledges. • MUST maintain a record of donors; Specify leadership givers; Distribute their Leadership Recognition giftsvia the Campaign Report Sheet. (Active spreadsheet) • Turn in ALLPAYROLL/PSD carbon copies (top copy) AND signed CFC NEXUS payroll copies to respective Payroll Office/Command Pass Coordinator (CPC)/CSR Admin NLT 1 December. • Turn in ALLCFC carbon copies (middle copy) along with ALL cash/checks to: • Complete your campaign with 100% Contact of personnel. • Say THANK YOU- to donors, Key Workers, Volunteers & Event staff. • Evaluate Results. Ways To Give Online – MYPAY 20-30 min Timeout • Payroll Deduction ONLY. • Donors DO NOT have to print off form. • MUST use the correct “Command/Unit Name” OR “Federal Agency Name” (Alphanumeric field)assigned to your federal agency/military/civilian command.This is your Agency/Command’s CFC Account # • Maximum donation amount for military personnel is $833/month (or $9,996/year). • To cancel pledge, donor MUST contact theirPayroll Customer Service. • System unavailable for DHS, USCG and USPS personnel. • ACTIVE DUTY • Army/Navy/Air Force • Use the South Hampton Roads CFC 4-digit Campaign Code (0897) at start of pledge. • Marine & DoD Civilians • DO NOT need to enter this 4-digit code as system will recognize 0897 code. • PLEASE DO NOT ENTER ANY OTHER CODES THAN WHAT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED BY CFCSHR. Ways To Give Online – EEX • FOR PARTICIPATING FEDERAL AGENCIES (Area 10) ONLY (i.e. OPM, SSA, etc.) • Look for the CFC Logo on Employee Express (EEX). • Payroll Deduction ONLY. • Donors DO NOT have to print off form. • All participating agencies, within the Federal Agencies Command Area (Area 10), have agreed that the use of EEX for CFC is strictly optional. No employee is required to use EEX to make his or her CFC donation. • During CFC campaign season, the EEX system will allow users to start a CFC contribution, or to review and edit a pledge previously entered into the system. • If your Federal Agency participates in Employee Express (EEX) and you are not already an Employee Express system user, you may subscribe by going to the Employee Express Web site and requesting a PIN. • Visit the Employee Express website (www.employeeexpress.gov) Lead |Commit |Care

CFC RECAP • CFC CAMPAIGN DATES: 1 SEPTEMBER – 15 DECEMBER • YOUare responsible for educating donor and providing the opportunity for donor to give. • YOU are accountable for distributing, collecting & proofing each donor’s pledge. • If a pledge is unclear or incomplete, please take form back to donor for accuracy before submitting to CFCSHR/Payroll. • Treat ALL donor pledges as MONEY! If you misplaced the donor’s pledge or did not submit the correct copies to CFCSHR/Payroll accordingly, you misplaced the donor’s money. • Ensure all donors keep their carbon pledge copy (DONOR COPY) or a copy of their online pledge for tax purposes as CFC does not produce a tax letter. • Contact your CFCSHR if you have questions or may need additional materials.
