Login • User Registration • User Guide and Examples • Clinical Data • OAI Online Welcome to the Osteoarthritis Initiative Image Archive: OAI Updates: The Osteoarthritis Initiative (OAI) is a multi-center, nine-year observational study of men and women, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (part of the Department of Health & Human Services). The goals of the OAI are to help us better understand how to prevent and treat knee osteoarthritis, one of the most common causes of disability in adults. This website contains the permanent image archive of the radiographs and magnetic resonance images acquired during this study. The website is made possible by the NBIA Image Archive system. • Available Images: • 36-month, 24-month, 12-month, baseline X-ray and MRI images (entire cohort) • 30-month MRI images for subset of progression cohort participants (483 participants) • 18-month MRI images for subset of progression cohort participants (287 participants) • Available Quantitatively Analyzed Images: • Quantitative joint space width from longitudinal sets of knee X-rays (baseline, l2-month, 24-month; various subsets of progression cohort and subset of non-exposed control cohort) • Quantitative cartilage and bone morphology from longitudinal sets of MRIs (baseline, l2-month, 24-month, 48-month; various subsets of progression cohort) • Quantitative knee alignment and lower limb geometry from full-limb X-rays (12-month; subset of progression cohort)
