VIRTUAL EXCHANGES: BRINGING VALUE TO ONLINE Administrative Sciences developing innovative ways to use online experiences to provide cross-cultural exchanges for those who could not take advantage of more traditional exchange programs 1) Foreign instructors offering a different perspective and cultural experience 2) Students from different online universities in BU course 3) Students take online courses at a foreign university

  4. Not really so much how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, BUT how to get old ones out REINVENTING BUSINESS Really need a mindset shift that makes us more relevant to our consumers

VALUE RELATIONSHIPS FACULTY TEACHING IN ONLINE MS_M CLASSES We have visiting at Boston but this permits broader exposure Feedback on courses from international perspective Assists in meeting accreditation requirements –Research faculty (AACSB/EFMD) STUDENTS Offer condensed hybrids e.g. doing business India but only few can attend Exchanges: Began thinking “university” experience but found Value in personal interactions /discussions most valuable International perspective (culture/projects etc.) in teams and relationships

WHAT IS THE DIRECTION (STUDENTS OUT/IN/ STUDENTS SHARED) FIGURING OUT THE FINANCES HOW DO YOU SUPPORT A “VALUE ADDED” MODEL FINANCIALLY ? THE “BU RATE” IS A PROBLEM AND NEEDS CONSIDERABLE THOUGHT ITS ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP , NOT THE PAPERWORK MAINTAINING THE RELATIONSHIP IS HARD WORK INDIVIDUJAL MUST BE “RESPONSIBLE” FOR RELATIONSHIP THAT SAID, “OUTSOURCE” THE NON ACADEMIC MOST LIKELY WHY MOST PROGRAMS NOT SUSTAINABLE VERY REOURCE DEMANDING – ENTER MET INTERNATIONAL
