  1. Services contracted from Community Rehab Programs • Evaluation (in house) • Work Adjustment Training (in house) • Work Adjustment Job Coaching • Supported Employment • Supplemental Evaluation • Job Development • Intensive Training • Community Based Assessment

Evaluation • May be used to clarify or refine the vocational goal at any point in the rehabilitation process • Should not exceed six(6) weeks • Should answer referral questions regarding the client’s level of functioning, available resources and appropriate vocational options • A post evaluation staffing is required with appropriate team members, including the client. A written report should be provided.

  3. Work Adjustment Training • Assists the client with developing the work skills required to become employed • Goals must come from an evaluation or the consumer has been through the program previously • Financial need is not longer required to be established; however comparable benefits should be used to the maximum extent, when available. Transportation and all other support services require a financial needs test.

  4. Work Adjustment Job Coaching • Designed to be short termed training for job ready consumers • Cannot be utilized for Placement Only • Do not use Supported Employment terms of intensive training & stabilization for Work Adjustment services • Includes Job Development and Job Training

  5. What is Supported Employment? The 1986 reauthorization of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (P.L. 99-506) defines the term “supported employment” as.. ...competitive work in integrated settings (A) for individuals with severe handicaps for whom competitive employment has not traditionally occurred, or (B) for individuals for whom competitive employment has been interrupted or intermittent as a result of a severe disability, and who, because of their handicap, need ongoing support services to perform such work.

Community Based Assessment • Perform competitive job related duties in public and private sector • On-Site assessment of an individual’s skills and job related behaviors • A CBA can be completed when the student is being paid by the job site or without pay • Job site for situational assessment, skills building and vocational explorations • Without the client meeting the definition of an employee VR Vol. I: 2-27-3: Definition and criteria of CBA
