  3. The Project This is a joint project between IBFAN and WABA and supported by NORAD and Sida

  4. Objective of the gBICS To contribute to Millenium Development Goal 4, for reduction of child mortality gBICS: Objective is to scale up early, exclusive and continued breastfeeding for both survival and enhancing quality of life

Action so far Initiated in 82 countries and successfully completed in 54 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America in the year 2008-14. 51 country reports are uploaded on the website, process is on in remaining countries Countries are taking actions based on the status of the IYCF policies and programmes.

How to Enhance Exclusive breastfeeding ? • At least seven strategies to work simultaneously: Protection, Promotion and Support; coordination, Research, Info management, and Education/training What it takes to enhance exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months and timely and appropriate complementary feeding after six months along with continued breastfeeding
