  1. Monaco South Orientation2011 35Years Serving The Community Invested over $1,000,000 in our community !!! Established 1976

What Have We Done This PastYear ?? • Served over 5,000 youths with our Super Citizen program!! • Served over 900 Thanksgiving Dinners to Boys and Girl Club members. • Donated $1,200 to help childhood cancer patients. • Eagle Scout service project awards for the Denver Area Council • Brain Bowl participation for over 600 middle school children • Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets to over 80 families

  3. What Have We Done This PastYear ?? • Sponsored “I Like Me” reading program and over 40 Million Word readers at Hamilton Middle School receive $50 Savings Bonds • Mentored youth through the HOBY leadership program • Sponsored over 25 kids in the Liberty Day program for constitutional learning • Sponsor 15 East High School scholars to attend the national Constitution Day contest in Washington, DC • Support the largest MS-150 Bike Race Rest Stop and help raise thousands of dollars for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation • Helping Alzheimers Walk, March of Dimes Mudd Volleyball and Furry Scurry with volunteer workers

What Have We Done This PastYear ?? • Sponsored and organized the Optimist Junior Golf tournaments in Boulder/Denver • Organized TriStar Basketball skills contest with the B&G Clubs of Denver in which 50 kids participated • Support the St. Patrick’s Day parade with the famous Monaco South Pooper Scoopers • Donated $500 to Help them Hear to help deaf children • Provided $3500 in scholarships to high school seniors • And MANY MORE: over 30 service projects a year !!!!

OPTIMIST INTERNATIONALOVER 2900 CLUBS • OVER 65,000 COMMUNITY PROJECTS • AFFECTING OVER 6 MILLION KIDS • OVER $78 MILLION DOLLARS SPENT • NATIONAL PROGRAMS: • CHILDHOOD CANCER • ESSAY CONTESTS • ORATORICAL CONTESTS • TRI-STAR BASKETBALL, BASEBALL, SOCCER • JUNIOR GOLF: LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS • RESPECT FOR LAW • CHILDHOOD SAFETY • INTERNET SAFETY • OPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION

  6. COLORADO-WY0 DISTRICTOver 60 Clubs… • EACH DISTRICT DIVIDED INTO ZONES COMPRISED OF APPROXIMATELY 8 CLUBS. • EACH ZONE PRESIDED OVER BY A LT. GOVERNOR. • APPROXIMATELY 40 CLUBS IN THE DENVER/BOULDER AREA. • CLUBS OFTEN WORK TOGETHER ON LARGE PROJECTS SUCH AS THE BRAIN BOWL AND JUNIOR GOLF. • DISTRICT PROVIDES SPECIAL CONTESTS AND RECOGNITION FOR ESSAY, ORATORICAL, TRI-STAR SPORTS AWARDS; WINNERS COMPETE ON A NATIONAL BASIS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

  18. Furry Scurry (Dumb Friends League Benefit) and Breakfast. 1st Saturday in May. We help with setup and then sell Egg McMuttins for donation to the League Our dumb friends!

  22. Colorado/WyomingJunior Golf Tournaments Over 100 golfers from the ages of 10 – 18 years. Winners go to the national tournament in Florida. JUNE OF EACH YEAR.. HOW IS YOUR SWING??

HOW CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE? • ATTEND MEETINGS REGULARLY • BE A GREETER FOR AT LEAST FOUR MEETINGS • SIT AT A DIFFERENT TABLE EACH WEEK TO MEET MEMBERS • SIGN UP FOR A PROJECT AND ASK LEADER OR OTHER MEMBERS TO EXPLAIN THE PROJECT IF NOT CLEAR • PROVIDE A BIO TO THE NEWSLETTER EDITOR • HAVE FUN!!!
