  1. MDHDS Conference Call:Sinker Bar and Testing 16 January 2011

  2. Agenda • Review Sinker Bar Length decision • Review completion schedule of ERS • Review upcoming testing • MDHDS latch test – 19 December 2011 • Early January MDHDS fit test (UT) • Review of Sugar Land Test #1 –24-25 January • Early March ERS layout/fit test (with Lamont?) • Review of Sugar Land Test #2 – 4-5 April • Review deadlines • Summarize punch list of tasks to be done • Establish bi-weekly meetings MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  3. 1. Finalize Sinker Bar Length • End design will have two configurations: • Length A for SCIMPI and other tools • Length B for MDHDS/T2P • Sinker Bar in Length B configuration will be 86.2” GOAL: Agree on proposed (or modified) design so manufacturing may commence. MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  4. MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  5. Configuration A Length A -- The new, short, standard length for use with SCIMPI (and probably other tools) This length option uses the existing Sinker Bar (modified) and a longer Motor Housing Crossover. We will modify the existing Sinker Bar so it can be threaded on to the new Extender Tubes needed for Length B assembly. Also, we will be saving as much of the Sinker Bar as possible and lengthening the Motor Housing X/O in order to get the external hardware length to better match the existing make-up length of the inner molded cables for the motor (2-wire) and comm to the IE4 connector (4-wire). This will finally correct the mistake we made by allowing conservative length creep to result in inner cables so long that they must now be folded over during ERS final assembly. MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  6. Configuration B Length B -- This will be the working length of the ERS v.2.2 when assembled with two new-design, 42.6" Extender Tubes added between the Sinker Bar and the Motor Housing.  Total extra length for "B" will thus be 85.2 inches.  For the Length B molded cables we will order two sets of cables (2 ea. 2-wire, 2 ea. 4-wire) with connectors with a length matching the existing cables plus 85.2 inches (+ a small safety factor). MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  7. 2. ERS Completion Schedule • Cables lead time will dictate schedule • Expected lead time is 6 weeks on cables • Assembly and preliminary testing • Dave or Chris comment • Schedule ERS fit test MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  8. 3. Upcoming Testing • MDHDS latching mechanism – 19 December 2011 – Pettigrew and UT • MDHDS fit test – early January 2012– Pettigrew and UT • Sugar Land #1 – 24-25 January 2012 – Pettigrew, UT, and TAMU • ERS fit test? – March 2012 – Stress and LDEO • Sugar Land #2 – 4-5 April 2012 – Pettigrew, UT, TAMU, LDEO, Stress, and MIT MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  9. MDHDS Latching Mechanism Purpose of test: Test modifications to latching mechanism made since September deployment. Personnel involved: Pettigrew and UT (Polito). Location: Mohr Engineering, Houston. After test . . . We should walk away with confidence that the latching mechanism can be successfully operated when activated. MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  10. MDHDS Fit Test Purpose of test: Assemble MDHDS and T2P to ensure that modified MDHDS components can accommodate new tether assembly (IE4 on both ends of tether). Personnel involved: Pettigrew and UT (Polito/Brooks). Location: UT, Austin. After test . . . We will confirm that the changes made to the tether assembly and re-machined MDHDS components have not limited the ability of the MDHDS to connect and deploy the T2P. MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  11. Sugar Land Bench Test #1 Purpose of test: Deploy the MDHDS and T2P in a borehole setting. Personnel involved: Pettigrew, UT, and TAMU. Location: Genesis Rig, Sugar Land, TX. After test . . . We will feel confident in the MDHDS’ ability to unlatch and release the T2P in a borehole setting allowing us to repeat test with ERS, MFTM, and wireline. MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  12. ERS Fit Test Purpose of test: To ensure modified ERS will work seamlessly with existing components. Personnel involved: Stress and LDEO. Location: Unknown (Lamont?). After test . . . We will not expect any fit complications at Sugar Land #2 test. MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  13. Sugar Land Bench Test #2 Purpose of test: Deploy MDHDS, T2P, ERS, and MFTM in a borehole setting. Successfully release and retrieve T2P/MDHDS. Personnel involved: Pettigrew, UT, LDEO, TAMU, Stress, and MIT. Location: Genesis Rig, Sugar Land, TX. After test . . . We will know if the system is ready for deployment in June. MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  14. 4. Project Deadlines MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  15. 5. Task List See Excel file titled, MDHDS_Task_Manager.xls MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing

  16. 6. Bi-Weekly Meeting To be discussed. MDHDS Conference Call: Sinker Bar and Testing
