  5. Teacher and School Information Scoil Naomh Fiachra is located in a rural area in the north of County Kilkenny, in the south-east of Ireland. At the moment there are three teachers and 58 pupils. The school was built in 1930 and major renovations were carried out in 2001. A third classroom was added in 2007, as pupil numbers are rising. You can find out more about the school in the Introduction section of our film. There is a link on slide one or find it here. My name is Tommy Maher and I have been Principal at the school since 1985. I have long had an interest in ICT in education. I was co-ordinator of an ICT-based Comenius Project with partner schools in Greece, Austria and Sweden and have been involved in the Empowering Minds Project since its inception in 1999. I am an ICT tutor with NCTE and INTO. I am particularly interested in developing strategies for using ICT in cross-curricular projects and for turning the perceived disadvantages of multi-age classrooms to educational advantage.

  6. Project Films An integral part of our project was the filming of all stages, from planning and research, to designing and building, to presentation, feedback and evaluation. We have edited the film , and, in order to keep the files to manageable size, we have divided it into seven discrete parts, which are saved as separate files. These files are stored on our website, and can be accessed by means of the links provided on this page. Film Links
