  2. Scene Size Up • BSI • Is the scene safe? • Number of patients • Request additional help if necessary • Consider stabilization of spine

  3. Primary Assessment • ABCDE’s • Protect airway if patient is unconscious • Administer oxygen if necessary • If patient does not have a pulse perform CPR and consider use of a Automated External Defibrillator (AED) • AVPU • DCAP-BTLS • Load and go or stay and play?

  4. History Taking • Could be en rout to the hospital or wherever the patient is located depending on the circumstances • SAMPLE • OPQRST

  5. Secondary Assessment • Vitals • Blood pressure • Pupils (PEARRL) • Blood Glucose (If paramedic is present) (80-120) -Rules out diabetes • Pulse rate (60BPM-100BPM)

  6. Reassessment • Depending on the patient, reassess their condition every 5-15 minutes
