ORIENTplus • Continuation of successful ORIENT project (2007-2010, 2.5 Gbps link, over 25 substantial scientific andeducational collaborative projects and programmes using the ORIENT route) • Providingconnectivity and services for research and educationsites in Europe and China • ORIENTplusconnectivityisjointlyfunded by China and Europe: 2011-2012 (CERNET, CSTNET), 2013-2014 (EC, EU NRENs) • Project duration: 42 months(07.2011 – 12.2014) • Project budget: 4M€ (EC contribution: 940 k€ )

ORIENTplus • ORIENTpluswillmaintain and furtherdevelopexistinghigh capacityconnectivity(with aimat2x2.5 Gbpsor1x10 Gbps). • ORIENTplusisgoing to support IP traffic as well as applicationsdemandingguaranteedbandwith • ORIENTplusprovidesopen and equalaccessfor allEuropean and Chineseresearchers • Services and toolslikeperfSONAR, eduroam, Bandwidthon Demandwill be deployedto facilitateusage of ORIENTplusinfrastructure, • ORIENTpluswillallowclosecooperationbetweenChinese and Europeanresearchers by enabling high speedcommunication for keyresearchprojects
