  4. Group Riddles Question 1: When asked how old she was, Suzie replied, “In two years I will be twice as old as I was five years ago.” How old is she? Answer:12 years old

  5. Group Riddles Question 2: If someone said to you, “I will bet you $1 that if you give me $2, I will give you $3 in return”, would this be a good bet for you to take?

  6. Group Riddles Question 2: If someone said to you, “I will bet you $1 that if you give me $2, I will give you $3 in return”, would this be a good bet for you to take? Answer: No. This is a situation where you lose even if you win. The other person could take your $2 and say, “I lose”, and give you $1 in return. You win the bet, but lose $1.

  7. Group Riddles Question 3: There are seven coins which look identical. One of the seven coins weighs slightly less than the other six. Using a balance scale how could you determine which is the light coin in just two weighings?

  8. Group Riddles Answer: Weigh three and three at the same time. If they balance, the light coin is the one not on the scale. If not, you set aside the heavier three and put one of the lighter three on each side of the scale. Again, if they match, the one left aside is the light coin. If on the second weighing the scales do not balance, you have found the light coin on the lighter side of the scale.

  9. Group Riddles Question 4: The 22nd and 24th presidents of the United States had the same mother and the same father, but were not brothers. How was this possible?

  10. Group Riddles Question 4: The 22nd and 24th presidents of the United States had the same mother and the same father, but were not brothers. How was this possible? Answer: They were the same man. Grover Cleveland served two, non-consecutive terms in office. He was president from 1885 to 1880 and from 1893 to 1897.

  11. Group Riddles Question 5: A man left home one morning. He turned right and ran straight ahead. Then he turned left. After awhile, he turned left again, running faster than ever. Then he turned left once more and decided to go home. In the distance he could see two masked men waiting for him. Who were they?

  12. Group Riddles Answer: The man himself was the baseball player. The two masked men were the umpire and the other team’s catcher.
