Key Initiatives • eLearning • Establish an eLearning program for the AHIA, tailored to the unique education needs of the healthcare internal audit professional.  The AHIA eLearning program will provide high quality, relevant, timely and pertinent information in an affordable and effective manner.  The eLearning program will complement the other education offerings of the AHIA and will provide this education on-demand, and at a discount, to AHIA members.

  6. Key Initiatives Subject Matter Leadership Program We have surveyed you to identify Emerging Issues and your areas of experience and skill. We plan to do this annually. The survey results serve two purposes: o   Identify emerging issues where we have little audit library content, which we will use this in our efforts to solicit information o   Define 15 new positions for which we are now recruiting subject leaders who will help us by being resources for the Association to answer your questions and direct the content priorities for the Audit Library   We are still working on formal processes and guidance for the Subject Leader Program, however if you have an interest in being involved please contact a member of the Professional Practices Committee. The fifteen positions we are now seeking to fill include: · Information Technology Security ·  Inpatient Coding and Documentation · Outpatient Revenue Cycle ·  HIPAA Privacy · ICD-10 Preparedness/Implementation · Enterprise Risk/Entity Level Risk Assessment · Meaningful Use:  Eligible Professionals · Meaningful Use:  Eligible Hospitals · Billing and Collections · Regulatory Compliance · Clinical Quality Reporting ·  Finance/General Accounting · Physician Employment ·  Health Care reform/ACOs · Physician Practice Operations

Publications Committee Accomplishments E-News: Editorial: White Paper: • Improved E-News Monthly Content and Tracking • Improved content for Practice News, healthcare regulatory articles and government activity, and enhanced Fraud articles • Added “Your Health Matters, Too” section • Developed “Certification Corner” which will appear annually • Added quotation • Tracking - one year average exceeds national benchmarks for associations • 32% of newsletters sent were opened vs. benchmark 20% • 48% of those who opened newsletter clicked on at least one link vs. benchmark 13% • Received “New Perspectives” Award and enhanced journal columns Received prestigious Apex Award for Publication Excellence for a One to Two Person Produced Magazine and Journal Improved Content by adding: Perspectives, QAR, and Ask the IT Auditor Columns • Published Whitepaper in conjunction with PwC Published first Whitepaper - “Meaningful Use Risks - Internal Audit Assessment and Response”

Education Committee Accomplishments • ANNUAL CONFERENCE: • Added an additional track for the 2012 conference (new auditor track).   Went from 5 • tracks in 2011 to 6 in 2012 • Provided hands on training in data analysis (both ACL and IDEA represented) • Conference attendance is at an all time high (excluding joint conferences with CHAN) • REGIONAL SEMINARS: • Seminars held in Chicago, San Francisco and Bellevue Washington • Seminars planned on November 9 in Houston and December 3 in the Mid-Atlantic • Region. • WEBINARS: • Provided a free webinar in conjunction with Protiviti – Over 500 attendees! • Produced 6 webinar in FY 2012 with 3 more planned • CAE/AUDIT ROUNDTABLES: • 12 CAE and Audit Roundtables held in Philadelphia, New York, Phoenix, Dallas, North Carolina and South Carolina

Education Committee Current Activities • ANNUAL CONFERENCE: • Planning for the 2013 AHIA Annual Conference in Chicago – August 25-28, 2013 • REGIONAL SEMINARS: • Planning for 5 regional seminars in 2013 • WEBINARS: • Planning Fall 2012 schedule and assessing topics to provide 10 webinars in 2013 • CAE/AUDIT ROUNDTABLES: • Planning for 2013 events • Document a working tool kit for Roundtables • Promote the value of Roundtables - evidenced by increased participation • Identify leaders willing to assist in organizing roundtables in new location • We are always looking for presenters and sponsors!
