    3. The Challenge New Project Management Offices are contemplated or being established Some existing PMO’s are struggling PMO “Body of Knowledge” is very thin Consultants are expensive and sometimes misleading

    4. Available Resources Puget Sound PMI Chapter members! Many levels of PMO experience Variety of PMO expertise Collective knowledge and experience Lessons Learned

    5. Goal Provide a means where Puget Sound PMI members can learn from the successes and failures of other organizations

    6. Solution Create a forum where people can come together to: Expand their knowledge & understanding of PMO’s Target specific PMO topics related to critical issues in execution of concepts and ideas Use the experiences of others to move organizations rapidly and confidently forward

    7. Roundtable Format Structured but Casual, Voluntary, Welcoming Facilitation Guided participation Open-ended questions Directing responses to knowledgeable members Act as referee Monthly meeting with strict 2 hour time frame Minimal Administration

    8. PMO Roundtable Agenda Revolving monthly schedule focusing on: PMO Personnel issues PMO Process issues PMO Tools & techniques Closing Protocol “Around-the-room”: Acknowledge a Success Share a Lesson Learned Suggest a future topic

    9. Membership Puget Sound PMI chapter members Invited guests (outside experts) Attempt to achieve diverse industry representation

    10. Sponsorship Puget Sound Chapter of PMI Provides publicity & Web site announcement Roundtable members supply meeting facility and cover any costs on a voluntary bases

    11. PMO Roundtable Member Benefits Gain insight into PMO success and failures Forum to discuss problems Ramp up PMO’s more swiftly with fewer difficulties Expand the PMO body of knowledge Enhanced professionalism and opportunities for networking Environment that fosters sharing

Directions from Bellevue First meeting Date: January 28, 2002 Time: 5:30 to 7:30 PM Location: PACCAR ITD building in Renton Host: Jeff Davis, PACCAR ITD From Bellevue Take Exit 4 and continue south on Sunset Blvd. S Turn right at the light onto North 3rd St. (just past Burger King) Turn right on Houser Way North (just beyond the railroad tracks) Continue North on Houser Way North to guard gate IT is the first building on the right Park at the north end of the IT building in the visitor parking area. Sign in at the reception desk
