  2. Bring Home a Friend, Objective • Involve NRKs and Malayalee Associations in promoting tourism into the State • Develop a web based platform linking NRKs, Malayalee Associations, Service Providers and the Tourism Department • Facilitate NRKs to invite their friends to visit Kerala

Bring Home A Friend, Project Outline • Register in the system through Malayalee Associations • NRKs can invite their friends from abroad to Kerala through the system • Service Providers will be featured in the System • Reward points will be given based on holidays taken by one’s friends through the system • NRKs can redeem credits against travel tickets etc • A percentage of the revenue will be transferred to a special fund for providing benefits to the NRK • The exact mechanism of fund transfer and redemption to be finalized

  5. Project, Advantages • NRKs can benefit commercially by recommending and bringing their friends to Kerala • Kerala Tour Operators will get access to a big market of potential travellers • Kerala will receive increased tourist arrivals

Service Provider Page, Functions • Registration • User name and password to log in • Can create their own profile in a given format • Can list various packages in the profile • Profile will be displayed in the Portal • NRK can select a few Service providers • They will appear as ‘Featured Service Providers’ (FSP) when the foreigner friend logs in

(System Administrator) • Assign a username and Password • System provides a promotional code using which he can invite his friends to visit Kerala • Select videos, photos, content etc from the available list • Will appear as featured items for the traveller friend to view

Friend Page, Functions • Invitation • NRK can enter the email id and few other details of the friend • The system will generate and send out an invite email to the friend • Registration • Friend can open the registration page by clicking the link provided in the email. • Enter the Promotional code to register with the Portal • Can also create a specific user name and password • Friend’s Home page will have the featured items • Videos, photo gallery etc • Featured Service providers • Can view more of any item by clicking the ‘More…’ button

Friend Page, Functions • Friend can either select from the standard packages or ask for tailor made packages • Requirement for tailor made tour plans can be sent to the Service Providers • There will be interfaces for both in the system • Can send requirements to a selected list of Service Providers or all of them • All Communications are channelled through the System

Completing the Loop • Service Provider can send a final quote using a template in the Portal • Traveller Friend can now send acceptance to the Service Provider using a Template. • Service Provider will send an invoice with travel dates, amount, tour itinerary etc • Intimation of the confirmed tour package will be sent to the NRK also • Traveller Friend has to make payment online

  22. Feedback Mechanism • System will send an email to the traveller with a link to feed back form • Traveller can do rating of the service providers

Crediting Points • Points will be credited to the NRKs based on the trips taken by their friends • Amount based on the credit points will be transferred to a special fund from the online advance payment. • If the travel is cancelled or altered there will be a reconciliation facility to make adjustments

  25. Redemption of Points • Traveller Friend can redeem credit by ordering mementos from the emart • NRK can redeem credit by availing air/rail tickets through Travel Agencies registered with the system • Other methods of redemption can also be considered • Redemption will be online
