  2. To Solve an Equation • Isolate the variable – get the letter by itself • Use the Inverse Operationto isolate the variable. • Addition Subtraction • Multiplication Division

  3. Multiplication • when a number sits next to a variable with nothing in between the two, the operation is multiplication. • EX: 2x=16
