  3. APPLICATION PROCESS • Submit an application for Physical Inspection. • 1650 Mission St., Room 312C, phone (415)558-6454. SCHEDULING AN INSPECTION • In less than three(3) months, you will be contacted to schedule your inspection date/time. • We project that by the first of the year the waiting period will be approximately 30 days.

  4. PHYSICAL INSPECTION FEES FEE 1 or 2 Units $480 3 Units $560 4 Units $640 5 Units $720 6 Units $800

  5. PHYSICAL INSPECTION PROCESS • On the day of the inspection there will be three different inspectors at your property: 1. Building 2. Electrical 3. Plumbing • A thorough inspection can be completed in as little as 30 minutes for a unobstructed, well-maintained, building of 2 units, longer for additional units and/or larger buildings.

  6. INSPECTION REPORT • The Inspectors research the property/permit history and prepare the “Report of Physical Inspection.” This takes approximately one month. • Your “Physical Inspection Report” will itemize the violations found, if any.

  7. PHYSICAL INSPECTION REPORT • Discuss the Report with all owners. • Then You, Your Contractor or Agent will go to 1660 Mission Street and apply for a permit. • You must bring your written report with you!

  8. APPLYING FOR THE PERMIT • On line 1, list all addresses associated with the property. • On line 16, write: “Comply with Physical Inspection Report 3R & your four digit number.”

  9. APPLYING FOR A PERMIT(con’t) • The other information necessary to complete the application is on your report such as construction type, occupancy etc. • For Electrical and Plumbing Permit information,please phone (415) 558-6030 and (415) 558-6054, respectively.

  10. FINAL INSPECTIONS • Once the permits are issued and the violations are corrected, call the Electrical (415-558-6030) and Plumbing (415-558-6054) departments to request inspections. • Once the Plumbing and Electrical Inspections are complete, please call the Building Department (415-558-6096) for your final inspection.

  13. SIGNATURE PORTION OF THE JOB CARD • PROJECT COMPLETION Upon satisfactory correction of all violations, your building inspector will sign your “JOB CARD” and issue you a CERTIFICATE OF FINAL COMPLETION (CFC).

  14. CERTIFICATE OF FINAL COMPLETION • Submit a copy of your CFC and a copy of your Report of Physical Inspection to the Bureau of Street-Use and Mapping.
