  3. 2008-2009 Accomplishments • Established and Strengthened relationships with community and neighborhood leaders to build a foundation on which to solve future issues. • 45 Neighborhood Tours Completed • Over 300 Service Requests generated and completed from one-on-one tours • D3 Neighborhood Association President’s Quarterly Meeting • Out of 45 neighborhood presidents, we have an average of 35 that consistently participate. • Empowered citizen leaders to be better advocates for their neighbors. • Weekly Recycling starter initiative in Kiestwood Neighborhood – Project Successful Pounds/Household/Month% Participating • Before starter initiative: 8 lbs 30% • Currently: 41 lbs 56% • Neighborhood Police Patrols • Reduced crime rate for District 3 by 11% • Tripled the police coverage in Mountain Creek • Improvement in patrols within neighborhoods as opposed to just the main streets

  4. 2008-2009 Accomplishments • Improved Code Compliance Process • Citizen – Code – City Attorney - relationship • Identified multiple properties that were expedited to the City Attorney’s office for action • Economic Development • Established a relationship with Kroger to make improvements in Wynnewood Village Shopping Center • Davis Garden District – demolition of multi-family property with crime & code issues. • Greenleaf Village II Groundbreaking of single family homes in West Dallas. • Fort Worth Avenue Corridor • Colorado Place Apartments –adopted a plan to demolish and renovate Colorado Place Apartments • Fairways at La Reunion project began • Nestle Waters and Niagara bottling (Mountain Creek Business Park) • Senator Promotional Group (West Dallas)

D3 Focus for 2009-2010 • Neighborhoods • Work to establish a new set of citizen expectations for city services in 2009-10 given current budget restraints • Weekly Recycling for all of District 3 • Strengthening Historic & Conservation Districts • Improve communications with neighborhoods and developers on proposed zoning cases. • D3 Neighborhood Organization Presidents Quarterly Meetings • Code Compliance • Closer Code/DPD/City Attorney relationship • Accountability • “More Proactive, Less Reactive” • Crime Prevention • D3 Crime reduction equal to city reduction (11% -vs- 19%) • Reduce Residential Burglary • Reduce Burglary to Motor Vehicles (BMV)
