  4. MYP Biology Warm-up Warm-up: Create a possible quiz question related to carrying capacity, limiting factors, or population growth. Use your notes to help. Make sure you identify the correct answer. Quiz a friend and see if they answer correctly!

  5. Ecosystem Vocabulary Add to your notes: Limiting Factor - an environmental factor that controls the growth or distribution of a population. Density-dependent factors - limiting factors that affect denser populations more than less crowded ones. Density-independent factors - limiting factors that affect populations regardless of density.

  6. Limiting Factors Card Sort Work with your partner to sort the cards into density-dependent and density- independent factors. Be sure you can support your decisions. After class discussion, record the factors in a T-chart in your notebook:
