  5. Work Station 1 • Two PENTIUM computers (July 2004) connected by KVM switch • One Scanner with document feeder • One Hi-resolution scanner

Disaster RecoveryWorst Case Scenario • Re-install WINDOWS from CD • Access Internet (necessary to activate) • Update WINDOWS completely • Install Partition Magic • From original CD if D:\ is corrupt • Repartition drives • Restore all data from backup • May want to update e-mail & personal data from separate backup

  19. Disaster RecoveryReasons for Using WINDOWS Backup • Fast because it does not compress/decompress data • Included with WINDOWS so it is immediately available – do not have to locate and install 3rd party backup • Backups require more storage than 3rd party but storage is cheap
