How to register names? • Membership to partner associations proves affiliation to the Aviation Community • Strict requirements - only for valid aviation companiesand suppliers • Aviation members receive ID’s (free of charge) • Aviation id and password from registrar provides validation to register domains in .aero • About $100 per name/year www.information.aero

Aviation Community Membership ID • Required for every domain name registration • Determines the Registrant Group and privileges to register names • One entity may receive more than one ID, if it belongs to more than one Registrant Group • Issued centrally by .aero Office (automatically or following a manual review) • ID record contains • Organization name, contact person (email or fax), ID and password string, registrant group, code element (where industry code applies)

Airline Designator Codes Usage • Uses IATA airline designator codes (2-charac IATA codes) as SLD identifiers • e.g. ba.aero, af.aero, sr.aero, 1b.aero • Approved by ISO Maintenance Agency Secretariat and ICANN (GAC) • 2-letter combinations shall not be used in a manner which is inconsistent with the ISO 3166 Maintenance Agency Secretariat's Alpha-2 code elements
