It is also called Piconet An ad-hoc computer network linking a wireless user group of devices using Bluetooth technology protocols • Bluetooth Technology is a fusion of several wireless technologies used to transfer data in the form of text, graphics, audio, and video files from one hardware channel to another. • Devices can be connected to each other without wires and cable cords.

  6. INFRARED

  7. Infrared Technology allows computing devices to communicate via short-range wireless signals. Two infrared devices within a few feet of each other when networking them. (No more than 5 meters) • Computer infrared network adapters both transmit and receive data through ports on the rear or side of a device. • The infrared transmission technology used in computers is similar to that used in consumer product remote control units. Eg. TV Remote Control & PS3 Controllers

  8. NEAR-FIELD COMMUNICATIONS

Short-range wireless connectivity standard that uses magnetic field induction to enable communication between devices when they're touched together, or brought within a few centimeters of each other.  • Short-range wireless technology that enables the communication between devices over a distance of less than 10cm
