Revisions to Analysis presented at June 29th Meeting • Average House Size increased for Heat Pump measures • 2,157 ft2 instead of 1,602 ft2 • Distinction made for Heat Pump Sizing (June 29th values reflect 3 tons for each prototype) • PTCS: Balance Point = 30 degrees • Standard Practice: Undersized by 17% • Based on 2005 Regional Heat Pump Study findings • Heat Pump Measures Re-categorized • All are now additive (June 29th had “HP Conversions” combined with C&C) • Conversions are 7.7 HSPF/13 SEER; • Upgrades are 8.5 HSPF/14 SEER and 9.0/14 SEER, and now include 8.2 HSPF/13 SEER • Commissioning and Controls (C&C) is now Commissioning & Controls & Sizing(C&C&S) • Proper sizing is part of the PTCS specs; without proper sizing, C&C would be at risk of causing comfort issues • Conversion and Upgrade costs now based on HVAC contractor bids (Mark Jerome) (June 29th used a poor fitting regression of ETO program data) Results Summarized • Heat Pump measure savings changed • C&C&S savings are significantly higher than C&C; Still a very cost-effective measure. • Conversion savings went down; All are cost-effective. • Upgrade savings went down; 8.5 and 9.0’s are not cost-effective, 8.2’s are. • Heat pump related Weatherization and Duct Sealing savings increased slightly
