  • To produce a truly pan-European key to the aquatic stages of mayflies (Ephemeroptera)

  • Water quality assessment, particularly WFD

  • Popular with anglers, naturalists and for teaching and training

  • Innovative approach using an iterative process

  • Existing FBA key (digitised and web enabled)

  • Local expert knowledge harnessed through FwL network

  • Iterative editing by FBA specialists.

  • The modified features will be added to the existing Lucid Phoenix interactive mayfly key


  • Total estimated cost of the project approx. €44k

  • Requesting €22k from ENBI

  • FwL will provide €22k
