Wood based Industries • The rich timbre resource of our Country is mainly concentrated in Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh & West Bengal. • Kerala is one of the larger Wood based products manufacturing States in the Country. • The Micro Small enterprises contribute majority of the Wood Furniture units in Kerala State. K-BIP

Wood based Industries • Kerala is having more than 10,000 Wood Based products manufacturing units. • Employment of at least 1 million skilled / semi-skilled and un-skilled workers directly and indirectly. • Majority of micro & small units produce traditional designs, while contemporary styles form only a small percentage of the total output. K-BIP

Wood based Clusters in Kerala • The State Government adopted Industrial Cluster Development programme for development of the Micro & Small Enterprises sector of the State. • The Ministry of MSME, Government of India, under MSE-CDP Scheme sanctioned 5 Nos. Wood Furniture CFC Projects in the State. • 2 Nos. CFC’s commissioned • The remaining 3 Nos. CFC projects are in various stages of implementation. K-BIP
