  2. As child I was fascinated with a moving “scare crow” my Dad made and place in the field to scare away birds and animals that threaten his crops. The more wind there was, the faster the “scarecrow” flapped its “wings”. It transformed into a powerful and angry defender of my family’s in Viet Nam. As the defender of my desire to become an architect. Loi Nguyen – final portfolio – arch 101 – fall 2011 • Animal – flying Beast

  3. My work is installed on the courtyard wall in the back of Bast Mall hall, so it can be seen by me, my classmates and other students. It defends all of our dreams . The courtyard is an extension of my classroom a place where I learn to become a designer. This is the place where my subject is installed. 8. The blades represent fierce courage to continue to move forward with my plans _ slicing up anything that gets in my way. It has two blades turn difference direction by wind. • Loi Nguyen – Final Portfolio Arch 101 – Fall 2011

  9. First look at my scarecrow, it looks like a mailbox. The reason it has the shape like that because I have to cover up the gears inside. I don’t want my audiences think that my subject is unfinished. The covers keep the part of “wings” go on the right position. The blades look sharp and dangerous because its name “scarecrow”. The reasons I put the light materials are to catch the wind easier as my choosing element. • Loi Nguyen – Final Portfolio Arch 101 – Fall 2011
