COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Public Workshops  Public workshops provide MBCP with valuable insight on community needs Allows to remain up to date with events Identify key areas in our diverse communities Key when creating programs Allows community members to voice their concerns Allows community members to have input with ideas.

  4. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Background  NASA provides financial assistance to communities who have been historically underrepresented and underserved in STEM. Community partnership Involve community groups, business, industry, museums, and educational and professional organizations through mentoring, field trips, guest speakers and other MAA activities. Engage students in participatory activities such as hands-on-learning, research, use of advanced technology, peer support groups, and mentoring relationships with professionals working in the STEM fields.

FIELD PROMOTION PARTNERSHIP Community Oriented  Lunch outreach conducted twice a month Local farms selected throughout the Tri-County area Through Entravision owned regional music radio station ‘La Tricolor 99.5 FM’ Local Benefits Reaching out to an underserved community Shining light on local programs Conducting sustainability presentations Establishing strong community presence Partnering with non-profit organizations Monterey Bay Aquarium: -Committed to coming along with us once a month -Conduct a sustainable seafood workshop -Provide free aquarium passes -Provide giveaways. Monterey County Immigrant Services Network of Empowerment (CISNE) Group of 30+ non-profit organizations in the MoCo.

BUILDING TRUST • Building Trust • Partnering with Univision to create awareness on ongoing door-to-door solicitations. • To educate and promote sustainability throughout the tri-county area • Provide insight on the shift towards 100% carbon free electricity •  Build brand awareness • Create informal space to hear concerns from our communities • Univision gives concert, soccer and local event tickets. • Radio and Television advertisement  • Despierta Monterey-Salinas TV Segment: • -Understanding your bill segment • -MBCP overview and program updates • -Airs during Univision’s version of Good Morning America
