Single Factor Region:

  • A region based on a single characteristic , such as climate.

    • Climate is a single factor but it influences

      • Population patterns, etc….

Multi-factor Region:

  • These are regions that share many characteristics

  • Regional differences across Canada seldom affect us personally.

  • It is when we have contact with another region do we become aware of some of our regional differences.

    • Time of day (time zone)

    • Weather

    • Dialect – across the line, off island, down east, out west
