  2. L>D Partnership Board7th July 2014 Update on our work-plan We have started work on our next booklet, 'Moving to independence – a carers guide to the emotions and the process when the person you care for moves on'.

  3. L D Partnership Board7th July 2014 Practice issues - Still concern about how the social work team responds to requests for help / assessments, and how it keeps in touch.

  4. L.D Partnership Board 7th July 2014 • Some easy first steps • Make sure the duty social worker can be up to date, can be open about what is going on/not, and can move things forward. • Make sure that staff use the automatic reply system on their emails when they are on leave or sick. • Don't disguise lack of progress on reducing the waiting list for assessments by allocating a case to somebody who isn't there.

  5. L.D Partnership Board 7th July 2014 Going back to something that was working well Have pressures eased enough yet for the specialist accommodation post to be filled again ?

  6. L.D.Partnership Board7th July 2014 The Panel that agrees support packages • Is it like the Wizard of Oz ? Wise, expert, strong on fairness and consistency – but not real ? • If it does exist ... does it produce consistency of approach (eg sleep-in provision) does it pull together lessons from experience? who really makes the decisions about packages?

  7. L.D.Partnership Board7th July 2014 Winterbourne View – local review Are we clear that the good practice identified to put things right after Winterbourne applies to local provision too? -ie always trying to deliver the best option for an individual ...not just seeing what's available.
