  1. Particles rate: new estimate Alessia Satta RomeI 9 sep 2003

  2. TDR estimates Caveat: the maximum is searched only in x direction Particles rate per gap per collision on DIS events (51) Particles rate per gap if L=5 10 32 cm-2 s-1 As above + safety factors (2 in M1 and 5 in M2 on all hits)

  3. New estimates • 50k GCalor events with low thresholds • Tof bug fixed (affects particles multiplicity) • Track angle taken into account • Search for the maximum in the region in two dimensions ……. not negligible effect M1R1 chamber surface

  4. New estimates (no tracks angle) Particles rate per gap per collision on all events (61) Particles rate per gap if L=2 10 32 cm-2 s-1 As above + safety factors (2 in M1 all hits, 5 in M2 on bg ) TDR estimates rescaled atL=2 10 32 cm-2 s-1

  5. New estimates (with tracks angle) Particles rate per gap per collision on all events (61) Particles rate per gap if L=2 10 32 cm-2 s-1 As above + safety factors (2 in M1 all hits, 5 in M2 on bg hits only) TDR estimates rescaled atL=2 10 32 cm-2 s-1

  6. Average rate in M1R1 • For GEM also interesting in average rate • In M1R1 chamber the average particle flux is 2.9 10-3/cm-2 /gap/collision • Tracks angle included Thus rate at nominal luminosity 58kHz/cm-2 withsafety factor (x2) is 116kHz/cm-2
