  2. Lesson Objective • To modify a Kissan Vikas Patra (KVP) account • To close a KVP account Duration 1Hour Employees who perform teller and customer operations in the front end of the post office. Intended Audience

  3. Business Scenario A Customer walks in with a KVP certificate issued at your Post Office. He requests you to include a joint holder name into the KVP a/c. As a Counter Assistant how you will include the joint holder’s name, change in mode of operation, change or include Nominee. A Customer walks into your Post Office with a KVP certificate and He requests you to close the account as the maturity date has elapsed since. He request for cash. As a Counter Assistant, you will pay the KVP proceeds Let us see the process of modification and closing a KVP account in Finacle CBS.

  4. Finacle CBS Process Overview Finacle CBS Process for KVP operations are as follows: • Opening of KVP account has been discontinued from 1st December 2011. However, all the existing accounts will be migrated to Finacle CBS. The other operations that can be performed are: • Modification of the KVP account details like, nomination, Joint holder details, mode of operation changes. • Premature closure of KVP with applicable rate of interest from the published tables. • Closure on maturity; transactions can be either cash or transfer. • KVPs denominations maintained in Finacle CBS are 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 10000 and 50000. • KVPs were issued for a maturity period as decided by the Government . • Transfer of account from one Post Office to another Post office.

Step by Step Process Given below is the step by step process to modify a KVP account in Finacle CBS: Invoke CSCACM/NSCAM, the menu option for modification of a KVP account. • Edit the required account details. • The editable details are: • Mode of operation • Related party details (holder details) • Nomination details For premature closure/closure on maturity of a KVP invoke the menu option CSCCAAC/NSCAC and the transactions will be posted by the system. Invoke the menu option HACLI for balance inquiry in a KVP account.

Following are the summary of important points discussed in this lesson: • Opening of KVP account is discontinued from 1st of December 2011 and hence account opening is not allowed to the users at the Post Office level. • To modify a KVP the menu used is CSCACM/NSCAM. • To enquire about the balance available in a KVP account the menu used is HACLI. • For closure / pre-closure of KVP account, the menu option used is CSCCAAC/NSCAC. • For verification of Closure of KVP account, the menu option used is CSCCAAC/NSCAC. • The closure report generated can be seen through the menu HPR and print out can be taken.
