Digital Access Access of technology for everyone is an essential matter for creating foundation for digital citizenship, and therefore we all should be aware of and support the electronic access for everyone. Technology is becoming, maybe already became part of ourselves. To become a productive citizens, we need to be committed to equal digital access.

  4. Digital Commerce There’re large share of market economy being done electronically, and we all know that. Right now, people are buy and selling stuff electronically, and a lot of remittance is being done electronically. You can purchase anything and send money in internet. This had made our life much easier, and it will be even more easy later on.

  5. Digital Communication Since the 19th century, humans have developed some forms of communication, from distance. Today, this have evolved significantly. There’re variety of options for the communications (e-mail, cell phone, chatting, etc.), very fast, and in a way that is very easy to understand, unlike old ways such as Morse code. This will develop as time passes, and we can look forward for that.

  6. Digital Literacy Digital literacy is about teaching and learning about the technology and the usage of it. Today, a lot of schools teach technology, and most young people in the world knows how to use technology. In order to get employed to a company, you have to know how to use technology, like Microsoft office. Technology usage is one of the most necessary thing that everyone is going to be needed to do.

  7. Digital Etiquette Digital etiquette is an area that has become one of the biggest problem in terms of digital citizenship. When people start using technology or start learning technology, many people don’t think or learn about digital etiquette. A lot of time rules and regulations are made, or the technology itself is banned to step inappropriate use, however most of the time that is not enough. We, as technology users, must learn and teach to become responsible citizens in today’s new society.

  8. Digital Law We all need to be aware that there’re ethics of technology within digital society. Unethical use of technology can be a crime. Digital law is not something like etiquettes that we should follow according to our moral. There are lots of actual laws dealing with digital society such as hacking, plagiarism and sending spam. These laws apply to anyone who works or plays online.

  9. Digital Rights and Responsibilities There are always rights and responsibilities for us on anything, and there are one in technology too. There’re rights to every digital citizen. We all have right to privacy, free speech, etc. on technology. One thing we have to be careful about is to not violate other people’s rights. It is our responsibilities to not violate others’ rights.

  10. Digital Health and Wellness Using technology, which is computer most of the time, for a long time can be very dangerous to our health, both physically and psychologically. Anytime we use technology, we need to consider our eye safety, repetitive stress syndrome or sound ergonomic practices. And also about our psychological issues such as addiction to internet or a game.

  11. Digital Security Just like any other society in the world, digital society needs security too. We put locks on the doors and fire alarms in our houses to protect ourselves, and we must do the same for digital security. We need to have virus protection, backups of data, and surge control of our equipment. As responsible technology users, we must protect our information from outside forces that might cause disruption or harm.
