Chemical Engineering - Higher Diploma at • Chemical Engineering Department • National Technical University of Athens- GREECE • Web page: www.ntua.gr • e-mail: taoukis@chemeng.ntua.gr, vasor@ chemeng.ntua.gr The Chemical Engineering Department (CED) – National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is located in the Zografou Campus in Athens, having its own buildings with a total area of 25000 m2 . CED started a specialisation in Food and Biotechnology in 1990. OBJECTIVES: - Prepare Skilled graduates to support the food industry, able to act in different areas: . Production . Quality Control and Quality Management . Development of New Products and Processes . Research and Development . Distribution and Marketing . Government . Consulting and Education The graduates work: 20% in Research and Development 40% in Food Industry 25% in Consulting 15% in Government - Establish the connection between the academic, scientific and industrial realities A five year higher diploma, after 12 undergraduate study years. The disciplines are grouped in 6 main topics: 85% Compulsory 15 % Optional distributed as: Opportunities to go abroad: - 1 or 2 semesters in the 4th or 5th year (optional) at Institutions participating with NTUA in programmes such as: Socrates / Erasmus, Leonardo, Tempus, Flad Date: December 2000
