  1. Neutrino IssuesOutline • Review 3 slides that Peter Vogl and I sent to the 2008 PDG meeting • Discuss new “Chooz” q13 limit • Comment about need (?) for listings outside 3 n paradigm PDG meeting – n report Maury Goodman

  2. n - Looking Back • The 2006 revisions in the neutrino mixing sections added nodes on q’s and Dm2, and eliminated (many more) nodes on Probabilities of Oscillation. • This has been regarded as useful & successful Slide for 2008 PDG meeting from Maury Goodman & Petr Vogel PDG meeting – n report Maury Goodman

  3. n - Looking Forward-reviews • The listings state and assume Dm2atmoDm231Dm232 This is appropriate (for now). However there is a great deal of interesting physics at the next level, and the reviews allude to this in ways that aren’t totally consistent. They need to be carefully re-edited with this in mind. Not yet Slide for 2008 PDG meeting from Maury Goodman & Petr Vogel PDG meeting – n report Maury Goodman

  4. n - Looking Forward - Listings • The double beta decay section should be revised • Separating the 0n and 2n results • Hiding the excited states • As a result of the MiniBooNe results, the “Other Neutrino Mixing Results” section probably should be hidden in 2010. • We should be on the watch for what new nodes (if any) for new paradigms (>3n, etc.) partial No, darn it Not yet Slide for 2008 PDG meeting from Maury Goodman & Petr Vogel PDG meeting – n report Maury Goodman

  5. ∆m2 Palo Verde SK allowed sin22θ13 (90% CL) Chooz sin22θ13 New CHOOZ limithttp://pdglive.lbl.gov • CHOOZ limit curve has not changed • CHOOZ limit in 2008 PDG is: sin22θ13 < 0.19 You also see 0.10, 0.11, 0.14, 0.15, 0.20, … • PDG was at 2.0 10-3 eV2 based on 1s low Super-K Dm232 (best fit was in footnote) • For 2010 PDG, sin22θ13 < 0.15 based on MINOS best fitDm232=2.43 10-3 eV2 [1s low value (0.16) will be in footnote] PDG meeting – n report Maury Goodman

  6. Poster from PDG at Neutrino 2010 • Issues related to encoding q13 were presented at a poster, didn’t write paper PDG meeting – n report Maury Goodman

  7. Six PDG collaborators met at lunch at n2010 to discuss the issue of what else to encode: There was no strong desire to add anything, except maybe NSI At Nufact2010 I raised the issue again, and received a request to encode non-standard-interaction parameters Many measurements seek to test outside that paradigm n vs n 4 n 5 n Lorentz violation Sterile fractions Non standard Interactions … What is useful? Issue for PDGWhat to encode? PDG meeting – n report Maury Goodman

  8. NSI • I was referred to and in contact with theorist Sacha Davidson from Lyon who has agreed to help • One compendium of limits: • There are notation subtleties I haven’t absorbed yet. PDG meeting – n report Maury Goodman
