  1. Newton’s Laws of Motion Mikayla Tyler Texas Middle School Mrs. Davis

  2. Words You need to Know. • Force- a push or pull • Inertia- another word the first law of motion. • Energy- the ability to apply work. • Work- Being able to move an object a distance. • Motion- the action movement. • Acceleration- rate of change in velocity. • Gravity- The force of attraction.

  3. Who is Issac Newton? • Newton was a scientist and a mathematician. • When he was little he was always interested in making mechanical devices. One day while he was walking he noticed an apple fall to the ground. He got to thinking about what made that apple fall. • Then he came up with these…….

  4. Newton’s First Law Of Motion. • An object at rest will stay in rest and an object in motion will stay in motion until an outside force is acted upon it. • For Example: • A Ball at rest is going to want to stay at rest until someone kicks it, then it’s going to want to stay in motion until and out side force stops it.

  5. Like this……. • The ball is at rest… • Until he kicks it

  6. Newton’s Second Law of Motion • Newton’s Second law of motion is… • The greater the force the greater the acceleration. • For example… • If a little boy kicked a ball it would not go that far but if a man kicked it, it would go far.

  7. For example…

  8. Newton’s Third Law of motion • For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. • If somebody hit a wall they would hit it and bounce back. • For example..

  9. The end • Hoped you enjoyed the show!!!!!!!!!!!!
