  2. Course Outline 9 Weeks Topic 1 Classification, Cells, Scientific inquiry 2 Genetics, Adaptations Over Time, Diversity of Living Organisms 3 Interdependency of life, Biomes 4 Diversity of Living Organisms, Culminating Investigations

  3. Major Topics of Discussion • Organization of life cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, organism, population, community, ecosystem, biome • Cellular Level Plant and Animal. Major organelles. Function of cellular components. Cellular reproduction. Genetics • Classification Kingdom, Phylum, Class, etc. Bacteria, Protists, Fungi, Plants, Animals

  4. Class Materials • Students are expected to bring a class notebook (3 ring binder works well), agenda, paper, pen, pencil, composition book (kept in class on the shelf). Online textbook details located on the blog and sign posted if book is needed in class.

  5. Class Materials • Textbook • Online Textbook/Materials (Your child has received a password to access the online textbook…should be written in agenda).

  6. Homework • Students will be assigned homework several times per week. Students should write each night’s homework assignment in their agenda. Late homework will result in a loss of points. • Please ensure that students are recording homework assignments in the agenda. • If absent, please check the Science blog.

  7. Grades Summative assessments = 40% Formative assessments = 20% Class work/Labs = 30% Homework = 10%
