  2. Question • As students, how can we reduce our ecological footprint on our local environment?

  3. Proposal • My proposal for the final project is to conserve water in my home.

  4. Hypothesis • If I time everyone in my house when they are using water, they will use less water.

  5. Information . • If you have an automatic refilling device, check your pool periodically for leaks. • Shorten your shower by a minute or two. • Replace older toilets with water efficient models. . • When cleaning out fish tanks, give the nutrient-rich water to your plants. • Use sprinklers for large areas of grass. • Always fix leaking faucets so we can save many gallons of water for our environment. • Make sure that when you are not using the water to turn it off, like when you are brushing your teeth. • When you’re washing the dishes and you have the water running turn it off and when you are ready to rinses the dishes turn the water back on. http://www.groundwater.org/?gclid=CL-0sc_c6acCFYHb4Aod3WMmbg

  6. Experiment • Step 1: Time my family to see how long they take a shower. • Step 2: Tell them they need to shorten their showers. • Step 3” Time them again. • Step 4: See the differences • My experiment is based on a 5min shower using 20 min gallons of water.

  9. What I learned about the final project. • What I learned is that all I have to do is use lee water and to remember to turn the water off when we don’t need it. Remember There are a number of ways to save water, and they all start with you.
