Calculating calories from macronutrients

For a given food let’s assume we find the following number of

calories from the macronutrients carbohydrate, protein, and

fats. How to we figure out the percent of calories from each of

the macronutrients?

Carbohydrate

150 calories

Protein

150 calories

Fat

300 calories

Total calories = 150 + 150 + 300 = 600 calories

Calculating calories from macronutrients

Percent from carbohydrate

= (150/600) x 100 = 25%

from carbohydrate

Carbohydrate

150 calories

Protein

150 calories

Fat

300 of calories

Carbohydrate

Calculating calories from macronutrients

Percent from protein

= (150/600) x 100 = 25% from
