  4. Develop Contacts • Network, Network, Network! • Include relatives, friends, neighbors, teachers, previous employers • Organize contact list • Telephone or visit each one • Write down information from each contact • Follow up • Investigate job leads • Keep in touch with contacts

  5. Develop Leads • Contacts provide leads • Newspaper ads • Telephone or visit prospective employers • Internet

  6. Interviewing • Dress appropriately • Be on time • Smile • Bring references • Have questions prepared

  7. Interview Follow Up • Send thank you note within 1-2 days • Within one week • Telephone interviewer to express your continued interest • Ask if position has been filled • If position has already been filled, courteously ask that you be kept in consideration for other positions
